In this video tutorial, I will show you some of basics of Adobe Illustrator like how to lock shape, copy, paste in front, cut etc. And also, how to use tools of Adobe Illustrator like Polygon Tool and Direct Selection Tool etc.
Follow few steps and you will learn how create awesome minimal geometric living coral background:
Step 1: How to give color to background and lock the shape
- Draw a horizontal box shape with rectangle tool (shortcut: M)
- Fill color: R0 G113 B188
- Select shape and go to Object menu and lock and selection (Ctrl + 2)
Step 2: How to make geometric line shape and give different colors to line shapes
- Draw a polygon shape with Polygon Tool
- Select anchor points using with Direct Selection Tool (shortcut: A) and Cut (Ctrl + X) or delete
- Left side stroke color: R255 G113 B188 and right side stroke color: R0 G113 B188
Step 3: How to make Blend
- Go to Object menu and Blend and Blend Options…
- Select Spacing: Specified Steps: 40
- Again, go to Object menu and Blend and Make (Alt + Ctrl + B)
Step 4: How to make copy, paste in front and rotate
- Go to Edit menu and Copy (Ctrl + C) and Paste in Place (Ctrl + F)
- Rotate: 180 degree
Step 5: How to apply blending mode
- Apply Color burn blending mode in Transparency panel (Shift + Ctrl + F10)
Step 6: How to make clipping mask
- Draw a horizontal box shape with rectangle tool (shortcut: M)
- Select all (Ctrl + A)
- Right click and Make clipping mask (Ctrl + 7)
Finally, you will create own colorful minimal geometric background in Adobe Illustrator.
